The Beaver scout Colony is being run by Mark Fennell. The colony meets on a Wednesday night between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. This is where a boys scouting life begins. At aged 6 and a half boys can join the beavers and they stay with us until the age of just over 8 years when they begin to link with the cub scouts over a period of about 6 weeks. During there time with the beavers the boys take part in many weekly activities Handcraft, phyicical games, cooking,as well as learning about the scout association. During the year they take part in activities such as Sports day,and other themed weekend activities, the beavers also help to raise funds for the group.

Most of you will know by now that there is a severe shortage of Leaders in the 3rd Collier Row Beaver Scout Colony since the Beaver scout Leader left last term after many years of loyal service. Scout Association rules forbid a Colony to be run by one Leader only so the District Beaver Scout Team are prepared to help in order to keep this excellent Colony going. I am appealing to you as parents to think seriously about becoming uniformed Leaders. The Colony would need two (preferably more) people to take this step as soon as possible. Speak to any of us on a Wednesday evening and we will be pleased to tell you what is involved. The District Team will help until Easter but if no potential Leaders have come forward, regrettably the Colony will then close.

On the 4th of march it is the beaver obstacle course for more info on this send an email to Simba@thirdcollierrow.bizland.com
